Frequently Asked Questions:

1. What type of functions do we allow and not allow?

Most functions are allowable but not under age parties ie no 18yo or under birthdays and currently no weddings are being taken. It is well suited to fund raisers, mature age party, wakes, conferences, professional development and training, educational programs and club meetings.

2. Can we decorate?

Yes provided no marks are left behind and no wall or ceiling decorations. Table decorations are fine.

3. How many people can you have?

Licensed to seat 200 maximum but 150-160 maximum is a much more comfortable number allowing space for serving and presentations. For standing only, with finger food, 250 is about the maximum we allow.

4. Who sets up the tables?

The client can do this prior to their event or we can arrange a set up for you at a small additional charge.

5. What if there are club events on at the same time?

Generally we take bookings outside scheduled club events to avoid conflicting uses. Occasionally a club may elect to defer their event in favour of a community booking, but this is by negotiation only.

6. Is there a charge for cleaning up?

Yes if we need to book our professional cleaners. Otherwise, if it is a low impact event such as light finger food only then the client may choose to self clean and not pay the cleaning fee

7. Who provides the Bar service?

Currently the bar is controlled by OGFNC during winter months and OGCC during summer months with fully qualified and experienced bar personnel.

8. Is there an in-house chef/caterer we can use?

Currently we recommend a few approved caterers who bring prepared food. We can advise upon inquiry.

9. Can I use the kitchen?

Only approved persons can use the kitchen on request.

10. How much does it cost?

The fee structure is dependent on many factors such as hours required, peak vs off peak use, additional charges for AV use, set up and cleaning if required. A schedule of indicative fees can be found in the SRP Hire Fees August 2017 PDF

11. Do you require a bond?

Depending on the type of event and who is in charge and our perceived risk.

12. Do you provide security?

No, but we may request that the client arranges a professional security company for any program we deem necessary.
